When thinking about blister packaging equipment, pharmaceutical products such as capsules or tablets are the first things that come to mind. Blister packs are used to protect pharmaceutical products from humidity and contamination and to extend their shelf life. However, they are also used for food items or consumer goods such as toys. There are two main methods and packaging solutions on which blister machines are based. Thermoforming heats PVC sheets in batches which are then pressed into blister machines to give them the desired shape. Cold forming doesn’t involve any heat and uses aluminum-based laminate film instead of PVC film.
